WOMEN AND DIVORCE

Proper representation for women undergoing a divorce is particularly important. Statistics show that the standard of living for women decreases dramatically after divorce, while the standard of living for men after divorce increases. We have been successful in balancing the scale and ensuring that women obtain equal protection in a divorce.

We listen to the women we represent. We think of the attorney-client relationship as a team. We believe the divorce process should be an empowering experience for a woman. We work to educate the judges that non-marital contributions of a spouse are as important as financial contributions. We believe that the income and marital assets belong to the entire family and need to be distributed as such.

We are experienced in protecting women in difficult situations. These include, but are not limited to, cases where the spouse is intimating and/or abusive, threatens custody battle, hides income and/or assets, refuses to continue financial support, and/or violates court orders.

While we endeavor to represent all of our clients with the highest regard for the outcome, we are sensitive to the needs of women going through divorce.
